1 pound of ground beef
1 medium onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 cup of mushrooms, sliced
4 slices of cheese (Provolone or Cheddar)
4 hoagie rolls
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
Add sliced onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until vegetables are tender and onions are translucent.
Stir in minced garlic for the last minute of cooking.
Layer cheese slices on top of the mixture, cover the pan, and reduce heat to low. Melt cheese for 2-3 minutes.
Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise to create a pocket.
