3 cups of peeled, cored, and diced apple (approximately 3–4 medium apples)
6 slices of chopped bacon
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup of whiskey
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
Instructions
Cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
Add diced apples, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, whiskey, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cover. Cook for 30 minutes.
Blend the mixture to desired consistency and stir in the crispy bacon bits.
Simmer uncovered for another 20 minutes to thicken the jam.
Transfer to sterilized jars and let cool to room temperature before sealing.
