Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 lb of ground beef

  • 1 cup of uncooked rice
  • 2 cups of tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper

  • Instructions

  • Prepare the cabbage by boiling a large pot of water. Remove the core of the cabbage and blanch the leaves for 2-3 minutes. Transfer to ice water.
  • Cook the filling by heating oil in a skillet. Sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add minced garlic, then ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Mix in the uncooked rice, salt, pepper, and parsley into the cooked meat. Let the filling cool slightly.
  • Assemble the rolls by placing filling in the cabbage leaf and rolling it tightly. Repeat until all filling is used.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread 1 cup of tomato sauce in a baking dish, arrange the rolls, and pour remaining sauce over them. Cover with foil.
