1 lb ground Italian sausage
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups heavy cream
1 box lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground Italian sausage. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the chopped onion to the pot and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
Slowly pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Follow with the heavy cream, stirring until well combined. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Gently add the broken lasagna noodles and Italian seasoning to the pot. Stir well and allow to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
