  • 2 pounds of ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of cumin
  • 1 can (28 oz) of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (4 oz) of green chilies
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground meat and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Break it into small pieces for even cooking.
  • Add diced bell pepper and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Transfer the cooked meat and vegetables to your crock pot. Add chili powder, cumin, crushed tomatoes, green chilies, and beef broth. Stir well.
  • Cover and set to cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
  • Once cooked, check seasoning and adjust with salt and pepper. Garnish if desired.
