Ingredients
Scale
400 grams of Firm Tofu
3 tablespoons of Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon of Sesame Oil
3 cloves of Garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of Ginger, grated
1 teaspoon of Korean Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru)
2 stalks of Scallions, chopped
1 cup of Water
Instructions
Step 1: Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy pan on top for about 10 minutes for best results.
Step 2: Once pressed, slice the tofu into cubes, approximately 1 inch thick.
Step 3: In a pan over medium heat, add sesame oil and heat until glistening. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing them until fragrant, around 2 minutes.
Step 4: Carefully add the tofu cubes to the pan, followed by soy sauce, water, and Korean red pepper flakes. Gently stir to coat the tofu.
Step 5: Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Allow the tofu to braise for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway to ensure even coating and flavor distribution.
Step 6: Once the tofu is well-braised, stir in the chopped scallions. Serve hot, preferably over cooked rice or steamed vegetables.
