1 medium of diced onion
3 cloves of minced garlic
2 chopped bell peppers (any color)
2 (14.5 oz) cans of canned diced tomatoes
1 (15 oz) can of canned kidney beans
2 tbsp of chili powder
1 tsp of cumin
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon for even cooking. Once browned, drain any excess fat.
Add the diced onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, and allow the spices to cook for about 1 minute.
Add the canned diced tomatoes and kidney beans, stirring well to combine all the ingredients.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes uncovered, stirring occasionally.
