Ingredients
Scale
2 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
½ teaspoon of salt
½ cup of unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup of granulated sugar
½ cup of brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
3 tablespoons of sugar + 1 tablespoon of cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy—about 2-3 minutes.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and add the vanilla extract. Continue to mix until everything is well blended.
In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
For optimal texture, chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Once chilled, scoop out the dough using a tablespoon or cookie scoop and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Place the cookie balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between them to expand. Bake for about 12-15 minutes.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
