2 cups of rolled oats
1 cup of all-purpose flour
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter
2 cups (sliced) of fresh strawberries
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir until evenly distributed.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Allow it to cool slightly, then add vanilla extract.
Pour the melted butter mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix until it forms a crumbly texture.
In another bowl, combine sliced strawberries with 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional).
Spread half of the oat mixture evenly into the bottom of your greased dish. Layer the strawberries on top, then sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the strawberries.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling.
Once baked, let the squares cool in the dish for at least 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
