8 oz penne pasta
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
4 tbsp unsalted butter
5–6 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne and cook until al dente, then reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
In a large skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onion until translucent. Add the ground beef, cooking until browned, and season.
Stir in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Add the drained penne and a splash of reserved pasta water, tossing to combine.
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, adjust seasoning, and serve hot garnished with parsley.
