4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups of warm water
2 ¼ teaspoons of active dry yeast
¼ cup of olive oil + more for drizzling
2 teaspoons of salt
2 tablespoons of fresh rosemary, chopped
4 cloves of garlic, minced
½ cup of Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
In a medium bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, chopped rosemary, and minced garlic. Mix well.
Pour the frothy yeast mixture and ¼ cup of olive oil into the dry ingredients. Mix with a wooden spoon until it starts to come together into a dough.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with olive oil.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and transfer it to the prepared baking pan. Stretch the dough to fit the pan, creating dimples.
Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Drizzle additional olive oil over the dough and sprinkle with coarse sea salt and grated Parmesan cheese, if using.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
