  • 1 lb of ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups of mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix with your hands until fully incorporated, but do not over-mix.
  • Transfer the meat mixture to a lined baking sheet or a loaf pan, then shape it into a loaf form.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • As the meatloaf cooks, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Peel and chop your potatoes, adding them to the boiling water. Once tender, drain and mash them incorporating butter, milk, salt, and pepper, and stir in shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with cheesy mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley.
