  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • Instructions

  • Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux and cook for about 2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until thickened. Stir in shredded cheeses until melted and smooth, then add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well-coated.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin, adding breadcrumbs to the cups.
  • Fill muffin cups with mac and cheese mixture just below the rim.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Let cool before removing from the tin.
