2 cups elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux and cook for about 2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until thickened. Stir in shredded cheeses until melted and smooth, then add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Mix the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well-coated.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin, adding breadcrumbs to the cups.
Fill muffin cups with mac and cheese mixture just below the rim.
Bake for about 15 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Let cool before removing from the tin.
