1 pound of lean ground beef
1 head of butter lettuce leaves
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
4 green onions, sliced
2 carrots, finely chopped
1 bell pepper (red or yellow), diced
¼ cup of soy sauce
2 teaspoons of sesame oil
1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)
1 lime, juiced
Instructions
Wash and dry the butter lettuce leaves gently. Peel and mince the garlic and ginger, and slice the green onions. Prep all the vegetables.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a teaspoon of sesame oil and ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and broken apart.
Add minced garlic and ginger to the cooked beef. Cook for about 1-2 minutes, then add chopped carrots and diced bell pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
Pour in soy sauce and lime juice. Add red pepper flakes if desired. Stir well and allow the mixture to simmer for about 3 minutes.
Remove from heat, stir in green onions and sesame seeds. Scoop the filling into prepared lettuce leaves and garnish as desired.
