Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz linguine pasta or spaghetti
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Bread for garlic bread (e.g., French baguette or ciabatta)

  • Instructions

  • Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the linguine or spaghetti and cook according to package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be cautious not to burn the garlic!
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour in the white wine and bring it to a gentle simmer. Allow it to reduce for about 2-3 minutes. Next, add the cooked pasta and toss to combine. If it looks dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Stir in the remaining butter, lemon juice, and zest. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.
