  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (fresh mozzarella works great too)
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)

  • Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until fully blended, but take care not to overwork the meat to keep the loaf tender.
  • On a parchment-lined baking sheet, shape the meat mixture into a rectangle, about 1 inch thick. Leave a margin on all sides for easy rolling.
  • Spread the mozzarella cheese across the center of the meatloaf. Drizzle marinara sauce over the cheese, ensuring an even distribution.
  • Using the parchment paper, carefully roll the meatloaf starting from the long side. Lift it gently, so the filling doesn’t spill out, and tuck in the ends to seal.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Optionally, spoon additional marinara sauce on top during the last 10 minutes.
