  • 1 cup of coconut cream
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnishing
  • Chili flakes for heat
  • Chopped green onions

  • Instructions

  • Select firm or extra-firm tofu for the best texture.
  • Press tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into cubes.
  • Marinate the tofu in soy sauce, lime juice, and half of the coconut cream for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil, and sear the marinated tofu cubes until golden brown.
  • In the same pan, reduce heat, add minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
  • Pour in the remaining coconut cream and add maple syrup. Simmer for about 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • Add the seared tofu back into the pan, stir gently to coat with the sauce, and simmer on low heat for another 5-7 minutes.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
