Description
A vibrant, crunchy vegetable side dish made from fresh green beans coated in a light egg wash and a zesty panko-Parmesan crust. Air frying ensures minimal oil and a perfectly crisp texture that complements the natural sweetness of the beans, offering a healthy and satisfying option for weeknight meals.
Ingredients
1 lb Fresh Green Beans, trimmed and washed
1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs, use gluten-free if needed
1/3 cup Parmesan Cheese, finely grated
1 large Egg, beaten
1 tbsp Lemon Zest, freshly grated
1 tsp Garlic Powder, adds savory depth
1 tbsp Olive Oil, light drizzle
1/2 tsp Sea Salt, adjust to taste
Instructions
Trim the woody ends from the green beans and pat them dry with paper towels.
In a shallow bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, lemon zest, and garlic powder.
Whisk the egg in another shallow bowl until frothy.
Dip green beans in the egg mixture until fully coated, then roll in the panko-Parmesan blend to coat evenly.
Lightly drizzle both sides of the coated beans with olive oil and sea salt.
Place in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket.
Cook at 380°F (190°C) for 8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
Notes
For maximum crispiness, ensure green beans are thoroughly dry before coating.
This recipe works well with gluten-free panko for dietary restrictions.
Add extra lemon juice after cooking if more brightness is desired.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 24 hours before reheating.
