Description

A tender boneless chicken breast dish smothered in a rich, savory homemade gravy made in your slow cooker. Perfect for busy days, this American classic pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cans (10 oz each) cream of chicken soup
1 packet low-sodium chicken gravy mix
0.5 cup chicken broth (reserved from cooking)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: Substitute cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom

Instructions

Place chicken breasts in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker
In a medium bowl, whisk soup, gravy mix, garlic powder, and pepper until smooth
Pour the mixture over the chicken
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours
Shred chicken using two forks
Stir in chicken broth to achieve desired consistency
Return shredded chicken to the gravy

Notes

For thicker gravy, reserve 2-3 tablespoons of the cooking juices before adding broth
Room temperature chicken reduces cooking time
Substitute low-sodium broth for better flavor control
Use cream of mushroom soup for vegetarian option
